Evaluation

I think that the entire coursework ; all the way from lesson 1 to the practical exam, is very meaningful & it helps my growth in the cooking. I find that it is an extremely good experience for me and it helps me understand better the meaning of leading a healthy life-style.
For example, i learnt that we should not add too much sugar/salt to food , we should look out for the vitamins in egg etc , to observe the nutrition analysis of food that we want to buy & the healthier cooking techniques.
The entire coursework also teaches me independence by researching on recipes & following it to create a dish.
For the pratical exam, it is a good experience also as there is a time limit to everything you do.
It tells me that we have to limit ourselves and improve my time management. Also, i learnt that we must be organised so that we will not have to rush.

My strength is that
1-i am able to decorate & am good at presentation skills.
2- I can modify recipes rather easily to make it better.
3- Practise makes permanent.
My weakness is that
1-i am flustered & tense easily.
2- I need to have a better time management, I should orgainise everything before i act.
3-Never make blueberry smoothie ever again!

Well, i guess this is the end ):
I enjoyed the home econs lessons & i learnt a lot (:
Sorry for the spelling errors & all!

PRACTICAL EXAM! AHHH.
i was super freaked out & forgotten my recipe (in class)
then had to run here & there. & was sweaty alr! -.-

So i have chosen to bake brownies + blueberry smoothie .
Brownies turned out to be a success! Which is GREAT (:
However, the blueberry drink ; urgh. Kai-ning said it tasted like celery! HHAH.
I'am so sorry . But i think she drank the bubbled part, otherwise it tastes quite okay .
Brownies are tasty, crunchy yet chewable & brings out the taste of chocolate . 8D
However, i am not very happy about my time management :<
Perharps i was too tense & did not know what to do at momments & even turn the wrong amount of fire to melt the chocolate that's why it took f-o-r-e-v-e-r -.-! But i learnt another new lesson from mistakes (:
I thought this practical exam was a success all in all & this is the end of our posts on Cooking ):
Dont forget my evaluation though! Next post coming up.
Sorry if it's late, very gravely sorry!
Lots of ♥ , Joey

(But i took it out before that timing :P)

In the oven, in the oven lalalalalala~

BROWNIE ; simpy taste great
(The end product)
Okay, so i did my modification of recipes to make it more healthy & nutritious (:
As i (pathetically) do not own any baking mterials, i went to my grandma house to bake.
End up with a microwave oven it has gone mental.
But at least i managed to bake my brownie & cookies!
Happily, my cookies are NOT a failure! This recipe is muchmuch better!
However, i decided that peanut butter doesnt really taste good so, i made BUTTER COOKIES!,
This time, it is much improved (: & i like the taste of it.
Comments` crunchy, sweet, buttery, golden brown.
I am happy about it as it is what i expected of cookies (:
This time, it's abit over-burnt.
Because the OVEN KEEPS PREHEATING when it is 9346648 HOT alr! -.-"
Then my cookies were really black (2nd attempt) & some part of brownie too.
But still i find the end products very tasty & improved healthly afte scrapping off the burnt part
:D` I think that for my brownie i should not use too much butter.
As the butter seems to be oozing out of the chocolate which is disgusting o:
Anyway, my point is MODIFIED recipe is DAH-BEST !

All in all the whole cousework was ok just that there were some blooopers on the way. i think i couldd have done and made better cookis with the modified recipes if i actually followed the recipe and not try to improvise it...
the final exam itself was good. the cookies i made were chewy, just right and not burnt. to decorate it, i took a plate from the back and put all the cookies on it. following that, i drizzed melted white chocolate on it and hundreds and Thousands on the white chocolate.

This was how it went, i put in all the ingredients. carefully following the timeplan.then because i was was a bit behind time, i panicked and rushed. in my haste, i used bicarbonate of soda instead of baking powder... thats why the cookies came out flat... if only, i had been more careful...by anyway the cookies still tasted good and most importantly no one fell ill. HAHA...

these are my weaknesses and strengths:

_____________________________________

STRENGTHS:
- i learnt how to improvise recipes when they didnt turn out right...
- I LEARNT how to make simple recipes in 55mins and to plan my time wisely...
-i learnt thath i am better at making cookies than brownies...(heh)
-now i am good at making two course meals which is easy to make and able to finish in a specific time frame

ok now ffor the WEAKNESSES:
_______________________________

- i didnt do well for my theory because whatever i wrote was too vague.
- i now know that i need to plan my time wisely so as to not get all panicky...(and take the wrong ingredients)

thats about it... overall i enjoyed this coursework :)
oh no tomorrow is IJ 155 and i am soooooo nervous....

Title: the two modified recipes AKA kitchen nightmare

To put into the oven.
Placing one by one...

Slowly, HHAH.

Plat. Yucky looking chocolate.

Stiring the chocolate

Gloves! & place it into the oven.

Egg beated , Oooo.

EGG!

My delicious end-product - cookie :)

To mash it up,

Yes, it looks disgusting!
But it's a good process anyway

T o be mixed.

AHAHAHAHAHA
today's food was horrible!!!!!first i made brownies...i modified the recipe and instead of using flour, i used the digestive biscuts. i pounded it up... and it looked really disgusting.anyway i continued. i put in the eggs, vanilla essence and i also put coffee powder. i think there was something wrong with either the measuring cup, the coffee powder or simply me... the brownies were bitter and as i said on the beginning.... HORRIBLE...i tossed it into the oven and viola, a disgusting gooey mass of chocolate.... i tried a bite enough to tell me that if i ate anymore i would end up at the doctors...

ok now for the part 2....
i attempted to make cookies...this was how it all started... i mixed in all the ingredients and because i didnt want to use my hands and dirty it, i used the mixer... when every thing was done, i tried to transfer it onto the baking tray but it kept rolling around because it became chocolate syrup... in the end i put them in muffin cups.. the "cookies " were somewhat edible but not exactly good enough to give others to try. so i guess thats about it....
laura:)
